Living Room Summer/Fall Decor Refresh
Since we’ve been home for almost 5 months now (crazy right?), I finally took the time to figure out what’s not working in our living room.
Incense Holder | Black Vase (old West Elm) | Natural Vase | Lamp
See below for my living room now, warts and all. The #1 offender is the dark rug that makes the space feel smaller and shows dog hair like no other. This is really rough since space and time are at a premium with baby Benji’s arrival.
Here’s my current living room. Complete with our baby gear and dog toys. See what I mean about the dog hair?! I took this photo at 11am and had just vacuumed at 9pm the night before.
Below is the quick mood board I threw together for the changes I plan to make. I am going for a color palette of light neutrals (white, tan, natural) with pops of black and lots of texture.
Roman Shades | Sectional |Colorblock Baskets | Coffee Table Similar (ours is old from Lilian August) | Rope Bell | Planter | Lamp | Frame TV | Black Vase | Ikea Cabinet Fronts | Pillows (both Jenni Kayne, but I’ll probably see if I can find more affordable options)
We already have the big pieces and a lot of similar decor pieces. So it’s really about seeing if swapping a few items can make a difference. I am most excited about the new rug, and replacing our old dusty blinds with some natural roman shades!
The rug is back ordered for a few weeks but I’ll be sure to share the after as soon as it’s here!
