Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 Review

I am a sucker for a new sunscreen product, so I was so excited to try the new Glowscreen from Supergoop. I have medium dark skin so products marketed as adding “glow” usually end up leaving a white cast or ashy look on me. However, I am pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised by this product! Let’s get into the details.
Supergoop Glowscreen is a SPF 40 chemical sunscreen that according to their website “ gives your skin a healthy dose of pearlescence, to add instant, glowing protection with no visible glitz or glitter”. Now, what really caught my attention was that there was supposed to be no visible glitter. I am not a makeup connoisseur but I have tried a few highlighting/glow products and all of them have had visible flecks of glitter if you look close enough.
This sunscreen is not cheap. It is $36 for 1.7oz, but if it delivered it would provide a SPF and highlighter in 2-in-1 so not too bad!
Here is my bare skin after my completed skincare routine. All photos are unedited so you can see exactly how this product performs.
Here is my skin with the Glowscreen applied. As you can see, not a huge difference indoors. Just a really subtle glow/blurring effect.
And also a photo with the glow screen applied in natural light since that is really when you can typically see the sparkles in a glow product.
Overall I really like this product. I loved the subtle glow (especially in natural light), and as promised I could not detect one single piece of glitter. I cannot report on whether this will break out my skin as I have only used it a handful of times so far. However, I was already using a chemical sunscreen so (fingers-crossed) I think I should be ok! I also have pretty oily skin and always have some oil on my t-zone by the end of the day, but did not notice any more oil than usual with this.
As for performance under makeup. If I do wear makeup it is very minimal. Just light foundation (currently using Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint), some blush, and mascara. It actually helped grip my makeup more than I thought it would, and my makeup survived all day. I usually do not wear foundation, so I like that this product blurs a little bit when worn on its own.
Pros:
Natural looking glow with no detectable glitter
Dewy finish
2-in-1 SPF and highlighter (I was mixing a highlighter with my moisturizer prior to this)
Not oily under makeup
Cons:
Felt more tacky/sticky than something like Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen
Doesn’t spread as well as other sunscreens, so I will go through this bottle pretty quickly
Have you tried this product? What did you think? Do you use it under makeup or alone for a natural glow?
