Benji’s Modern Boho Nursery Tour

Time is flying! I can’t believe Benji is almost 3 months old and we are just getting around to finishing his nursery.

We live in a 100 year old house and don’t plan to be here too long so I wanted his nursery to have personality, without installing something like wallpaper or an accent wall.

From the moment I saw this rug from Lulu and Georgia’s Sarah Sherman Samuel collaboration, I knew I wanted it to be the focal point of the room.

From the moment I saw this rug from Lulu and Georgia’s Sarah Sherman Samuel collaboration, I knew I wanted it to be the focal point of the room.

From there I worked out a color palette of rust, indigo, black and lots of wood tones.

I am hoping the items in the room will grow with him as he transitions from nursery to toddler room, or that they can be used in other rooms if we move sooner than later.

One of my favorite parts of this side of the room is the Human Home Co lamp. It turns on/off by touch which is so helpful when I’ve got an armful of baby. Also, I cannot say enough good things about the customer service. We had trouble with the first lamp, and they sent us a new one before we even mailed back the old lamp!

I’ll do a separate post on how I organized his dresser along with closet.

The glider is also a power recliner which can recline almost silently. It also has a USB port for charging your electronics! Benji is still sleeping in our room so we don’t spend too much time up here, but I can imagine how great this chair will be in a few months.

When we realized we did not have any storage for toys or items he would use when he was older, we picked up these cubbies from Target. They have been a lifesaver for stashing things and keeping the room tidy.

What have been your favorite pieces for your little one’s room? Did you stick with a traditional color palette for their room or try something different?
